Over three decades, Tietex has forged
a reputation as a fabric manufacturer with an innovative backbone
and willingness to take risk. When you examine the facts behind this
claim, you will find they lead to specific discoveries that have placed
us among the industry leaders.
Stitchbonding
Stitchbonding is a fabric formation technology
invented in 1953 by Dr. Heinrich Mauersberger, an East German textile
engineer. An early pioneer in the commercialization of Mauersberger’s
invention, Tietex has developed and advanced it as the company’s core
technology. In doing so, we have developed proprietary machinery and
continue to patent many original ideas for a broad range of market
applications. Today, Tietex is the world’s largest, most advanced
manufacturer of stitchbonded fabrics.
Athletic Footwear
Tietex has become a strategic and pioneer supplier to develop and
process recyclable materials, and to create a number of other important
technological processes and procedures that serve this market:
•
Strobel Materials - high performance footwear fabrics contain recycled
and recyclable materials
• Post Weave - A patented stitchbonded fabric having high wear performance
and fine textural appearance
• Tietex 3D - patented 3-dimensional fabrics with cushioning properties.
A family of patented 3-dimensional fabrics made of 100% polyester.
This revolutionary composite technology is designed to replace cushioning
foams
• Moisture Management Fabrics - Moisture channeling and quick drying
properties for maximum footwear performance and comfort. Our fabric
constructions are the benchmark of moisture management technology
• Closed Loop Material Recycling - state-of-the-art technology that
returns polyester scrap materials to first quality fiber, so that
first quality material can once again be regenerated. This capability
has addressed serious environmental problems that result from the
traditional disposal of factory cutting scrap.
Tietex Loop System (TLS)
A
patented technology produces a low cost loop receiver for "hook and loop" fastener
systems. TLS is technology whereby loops of yarn are precisely embedded
in an extruded plastic film. The precision of loop formation ensures
consistent product performance and low cost. Primarily targeted
at disposable diaper and hygiene markets.
Fabric Design and Development
Tietex has emerged as a leader in fashion
design as well as product development.
• Murena™ - Originally billed
as "a new body for a new age," Murena is a new fabric category created
by a patented "micro-stitching" process. Murena can take on many different
forms – velvets, pile fabrics, textures or flat fabrics—literally
an endless array of application and design possibilities that cut
across traditional and contemporary lines.
• Murena Jacquard™ - Developed from a revolutionary fabric technology,
Murena-Jacquard has the look and feel of expensive jacquard velvet.
This proprietary fabric combines the style and design of a classic
jacquard with the performance qualities of BodyGuard—the built-in
enhancement that assures easy care and ultimate durability.
• Bodyguard™ - This performance enhancement provides moisture and
stain resistance, soil release properties and clean-ability ratings,
among other benefits.
• Crypton® - High performance Murena and Jacquard fabrics are available
through this licensed brand.
Microstitching
Unlike weaving and knitting, this is a patented
technology that produces very finely stitched fabrics under the Murena
brand name – fabrics that can either be pile or flat, combining, high
performance, a unique aesthetic appeal and excellent value.
Barrier and Fire Resistant Fabrics
Fabric development expertise combined
with chemistry research have blazed a trail in the critical area of
fire retardant applications. Under the Sleepfree® brand, we have created
a family of FR products.
Flexographic Printing
a printing system that incorporates the use
of flexographic technology with dye and pigment systems—proprietary
to Tietex.
*BodyClimate® is a registered trademark of Mauldin Mills.
