TIETEX NAMES HUNT TO HEAD ITS TICKING DIVISION.

Corporation Gearing Up To Be At The Forefront Of Changing Landscape.

SPARTANBURG, SC -- Tietex International has named textile industry veteran Beth Hunt to head the company's Ticking Division, replacing Ron Weaver who has announced his retirement after 30 years in the textile industry.

According to Mike Hardegree, corporate director of sales and business development, Weaver has agreed to serve the company in a consulting capacity.

Hunt brings impressive management credentials to one of the company's core operating divisions, Hardegree said. "Time and again, Ms. Hunt has demonstrated the essential qualities that lead to success; so our entire management team looks forward to working with her and benefiting from her experience and leadership in the textile industry."

Under Hunt's direction as general manager of the division, Hardegree said, Tietex Ticking expects to expand along a broad front, concentrating on the development of enhanced products, new markets and innovative ideas. He said, "Like every other major textile company, we are keenly aware that, even with our known strengths and traditional success factors, we must always adopt an attitude of transformation."

Hunt echoed the need for a willingness to adapt to change.  She said," The growth of visco-elastic beds and one-sided mattresses is a reality.  We're also witnessing the full emergence of new flammability standards. My job will be to navigate these and other changes and offer our customers innovative solutions, and I'm excited by the opportunity."

Hunt comes to Tietex from the Window fashions Division of Hunter Douglas where she worked as vice president of the new products business unit. She spent the bulk of her career, 22 years in all, in various management positions with the Precision Fabrics Division of Burlington Industries and with Precision Fabrics Group (PFG), a spin-off from Burlington. She was vice president/business director of the Performance Fabrics Division of PFG for 12 years.

A systems engineer and systems analyst in her early career, Hunt received her BS in mathematics and physics from William and Mary and her MBA from UNC-Greensboro.
