REVOLUTIONARY FABRIC TECHNOLOGY BEHIND LATEST TIETEX INTRODUCTION.

Newest Murena Fabric Has Look And Feel Of Expensive Jacquard Velvet Combined With Performance.

HIGH POINT, NC -- Tietex Interiors (TI) has announced development of a new Murena fabric that will make its United States debut next month at Showtime, December 3-6.

According to Mike Durham, TI president, the fabric has been "many years in the making" and is the latest in a series of recent proprietary introductions. "Our newest Murena product is the result of a revolutionary technology," Durham said.  "It has the look and feel of expensive jacquard or cut velvet."

Durham said the new arrival combines the unique qualities and performance characteristics that brought the original Murena category to prominence three years ago. "Our patented microstitching technology and BodyGuardÔ enhancement that are so critical to the original Murena are also integral to this newest introduction."

Kim Grimsley, TI vice president of design and merchandising, said Tietex initially would introduce six patterns in multiple colors. "We anticipate that our customers will be intrigued because they haven't seen anything quite like this, and that stands to reason because it is truly one of a kind. Very likely, most of them will call it a cut velvet or a brushed frieze. But what they will find is a totally new category.  What makes our offering even more exciting is how this new collection ideally complements the existing Murena fabric line, giving customers many options to coordinate styles and colors," Grimsley said.

Doug Henderson, Tietex Interiors sales vice president, predicts the new introduction will be a success.  "Tietex is always looking at ways to expand its position in the marketplace.  This new product strengthens our Murena brand and provides us a total new look that traditionally was available only in Europe," Henderson said.

Tietex has U.S. patents pending for its new technology and has applied for patents internationally. This new Murena product introduction reinforces the Tietex ‘innovate' brand position, said Martin Wildeman, Tietex chairman. "This position is the core element of our identity; so we continue to challenge our employees, suppliers and customers to bring something new to the world of fabrics and furnishings."

Tietex Interiors is a division of Tietex International. The corporation employs approximately 1000 people worldwide with manufacturing locations in Thailand,  United States and Mexico.
