TIETEX LAUNCHES BROAD LINE OF NEW MOTION VELVETS.

Proprietary SofTek™ Blends Soft Touch and High Tech.

HIGH POINT, NC — Tietex Interiors (TI), an operating group of Tietex International, Ltd., has announced the development of a broad line of new velvet fabrics targeted to the motion furniture industry, signaling its intention to quickly become a major supplier to that segment of the residential upholstery market.

Mike Durham, TI group president said the company's SofTek™ line of products utilizes an innovative, new and proprietary process that provides the ideal blend of soft touch and high tech.  "Beginning immediately, thanks to this proprietary technology, we will introduce and place a wide array of differentiated velvets as the beginning of a long-term and diversified marketing strategy.

"We are acutely aware of the specialized product needs of the motion category and are positioning the SofTek™ line of fabrics to specifically address them. But our emphasis goes far beyond basic product styling and design issues," he said.

Durham explained that Tietex Interiors is approaching the motion industry with a dedicated program and a full complement of services. "This is not about just developing a product line," he said. "It's about approaching key accounts with a willingness to develop tailor-made products backed up by focused, but flexible, customer.

In addition to addressing the motion category, Tietex believes it's SofTek™ technology will be instrumental in developing a number of products for the stationary market as well, Durham said.
